Strategic objectives
SeisGrid’s Mission: SeisGrid’s goal is to construct a grid platform for applications of petroleum seismic exploration by using SINOPEC’s intranet and HPC resources, to develop grid-enable seismic exploration applications and related supporting middleware, and to realize the remote access of grid application to huge seismic dataset and intelligent request management. SeisGrid will provide a production ready grid environment of seismic data processing for petroleum E&P industry, with the connection of seismic data processing applications, resource sharing and collaboration. With the sharing and integration of the resources, SeisGrid will improve the usage of petroleum industry’s HPC resources and application software, increase the computing capability available, promote the wide use of new computating-intensive technologies, shorten the cycle of seismic data processing, improve processing quality, and reduce the risk and cost of petroleum exploration and production.
SeisGrid’s Functions: SeisGrid aims at providing the service of seismic data processing for petroleum exploration and production, especially the computing service of seismic imaging and sharing E&P applications. In addition, SeisGrid will provide the related information and data services.
